Check for file existence and send email if no file found in SSIS

Hello,I'm using a script task to check for file existence in a folder. If the file found proceed with the data load, if not send an email to the users.if the file is found then it proceeds to data flow task(Excel source, text file source) it works fine, but if the file is not present the excel source is failing saying VS is broken even though the script task doesn't need to go that path... If I disable the data flow task and check, the package sends email without any issues.
